About Me
I got a jump-start in growing as an artist ever since the time in grade eight when I was "kicked" out of instrumental music, and placed in an alternate class-"Art class for the musically inept", and I've been growing ever since!
I have been working as a professional artist and graphic designer since 1993, after graduating from a fine art degree program at Queen's University, and a Graphic Design program at St. Lawrence College in Kingston.
Inspirations
I am drawn to natural flora and find celtic interlacings have become an important part of my work. Natural elements of earth, air, water, are often found in my work. There is a tendency to stylize these to the symbolic.
The human figure is also found throughout my work but also plays a symbolic role.
My Desire.
I hope that a sense of peace is found in my work , where things flow, into and through the lines, where colours only run as an undercurrent to the symbolic structural strength of the work. I've never found the need for emotional release in work, rather I seek and often find a peace, continuity and a strong sense of connectedness to the world that grows and envelops me.

Motivations
Development of an Artistic Language through symbolism.
Its about creating a work that feels like there's been something found
-an unexpected gem discovered in the chaos of living, a snippet of of our vast universe caught on tiny fragments of paper.
Interactions/Communication
I’m not interested in trying to sell an idea, or bang out a feeling. I don’t want these works to demand attention, I want it given freely, to draw the viewer closer, allow them to choose the time they wish to be receptive and then in the seeking give them an opportunity to see more –not less. It’s really about creating that a tiny intimate, peaceful moment between artist and viewer.
